What I am wishing for . . .

  1. With each Kit, I hope to pass along the same atmosphere of excitement we experienced while celebrating my daughter's first birthday.

  2. All of our suggestions for the "Gift for the Future" were chosen because of their unique style and handmade quality. Each of the artists truly love creating and are masters of their craft. I'm very fortunate to be able to collaborate with them in bringing to you something that can be personalized for your special soon to be one-year-old.

Hi, I’m Mary Hemmingway-Emrich, a graphic designer living in Denver, Colorado. I created this time capsule for my daughter, Dani’s first birthday party. I wanted to celebrate her first birthday in some big way, but she needed nothing . . . her closets and bedroom were already overflowing.

I decided to throw a party for now while looking ahead to the future. I asked invited guests to bring something they thought would be significant to Dani when she would be turning 16. I explained that we would be creating a special time capsule filled with gifts for her future, while celebrating her first birthday. On the day of the party, it was fun to see what choices had been made. We all talked about Dani’s future, wondering who she would grow up to be. . . it was such fun to think about.
